INTEGRATIVE SYSTEMS
Intentionally Integrated
Integrative Performance at Everest Academy embraces the multifaceted and dynamic nature of human performance. We believe human performance is about more than physical ability. While we take pride in training foundational elements like speed, power, strength, flexibility, endurance, and reaction time, we believe movement proficiency is only part of the picture. At Everest, we train our Mental Muscles too. S+C sessions regularly incorporate mental health strategies for self-awareness and emotional regulation, as well as elements of performance psychology and mindfulness training.
An additional dimension of Integrative Performance at Everest incorporates perceptual-cognitive and sports vision training. This layer of our programming educates student athletes about the visual, vestibular, auditory, proprioceptive, and coordinated processing systems that allow them to perceive and interact with their performance environment. We train these systems in both foundational and integrated, sport-specific contexts. Athletes with enhanced perceptual cognitive skills are able to extract more, higher-quality information from their environment, make better decisions, and execute more complex and creative movement strategies. We call it Integrative Performance because it’s the integration of the physical, emotional, perceptual, cognitive, and environmental-contextual systems that culminate in elevated human performance.
